Hey Momra!
My names Deanna and I’m the owner of the Smokey Rave Bear totem. This was my 3rd forest and also third time with my totem design. But he keeps getting better and better every year and so does my forest experience every year.
This was my first time in good life and man that Wednesday pool party really lived up to all the hype! And all the good life amenities are worth the extra money, I will never do GA again lol. Feeling very lucky that I met a group of people through close friends last year that immediately adopted me into their group. Without them Smokey wouldn’t have been nearly as cool this year and i definitely wouldn’t have had the good life connection lol. They also have quickly become lifelong friends and I don’t want to ever do a festival camp without them again. We also made the MLive best totems list this year and that has been my goal since the first verison of him.
This forest was super special for me because 30+ of my friends and friends of friends dressed up as park rangers or Ravegers 😉 on Friday because of my totem. My very sweet boyfriend was even going to actually dress up as Smokey Bear in a big fur coat but it was way too hot hahaha. And he also did a lot of the totem carrying against his wishes, very much appreciated. It’s a really surreal feeling to have that many people that are down to do something because of you and I’m super emotional about it. I hope your family can make it to forest next year so I can give them one of the patches of my totem that all the ravegers got and the rest we gave to very special people or the giving tree. Heck they are even welcome to dress up with us! 🙂
As for a cute story with one of the pictures attached. One of my Ravgers had citation cards we could give to people. I saw the blow up fire totem from afar and told my boyfriend “BABE WE HAVE TO GIVE THEM A CITATION FOR HAVING AN OPEN FIRE IN THE FOREST!!”
We ran up to them and said hey we’re gonna have to ask you to put that away, and they were so confused until we handed them the citation and pointed out Smokey Bear. We all laughed and took a picture together. It was definitely one of the highlights of the weekend.
